Adopt-A-Park and Adopt-A-Trail Program Launched!
The City of Cody Parks, Recreation & Public Facilities Department is responsible for the maintenance of more than 400 acres of parkland, trails and open space . . . all of which are a focal point and asset to our community. As funding for the maintenance of these recreational spaces is limited, the City Council of the City of Cody has supported the creation of an Adopt-A-Park and Adopt-A-Trail Program.
The
program allows volunteers the opportunity to take responsibility for
one segment of a trail or park, including providing labor and equipment
to maintain the park/trail such as planting, weeding, littering and the
like. Volunteers will be recognized with a sign designating their
section and community involvement as well as a certificate of
appreciation from the Mayor. Parks and trail sections will be allotted
to volunteers on a first come-first serve basis.
All groups (such as family, service, scout or church) are encouraged to contact the Parks & Recreation Department to volunteer to adopt a park, open space or section of trail to maintain the beauty of our community. Click here to download an information packet and application for the Adopt-A-Park and Adopt-A-Trail Program. You may also contact Rick Manchester, Parks & Recreation Director, at 307.587.0400 for additional details.
