Effective and secure use of technology and information is vital to the City of Cody's business operations and goals as a municipal government. The City of Cody's Information Technology Division is dedicated to providing reliable, secure communication environments for employees to effectively utilize technology.

The IT Division maintains the following technology systems and services for all City departments:
      • Data networks
      • Telecommunications systems
      • Server infrastructure
      • Application databases
      • Computer workstations
      • Television broadcasts
      • Video surveillance systems
      • Radio systems
      • Website
      • Email

Operations



Operations that involve the adoption of new hardware and software systems are facilitated by the System Administrator. The System Administrator is also responsible for ensuring data confidentiality, integrity, and availability through security controls and protocols.

Additionally, the IT Division includes one Network Communications Technician.

The City's IT budget is developed by the System Administrator and approved by Departmental Heads and Council. All IT systems and purchased, procured, and provisioned by the System Administrator. Additionally, the System Administrator also serves as the Chairman for the City's Technology Committee.
